Bhopal: Financial assistance of total Rs 3.59 lakh has been sanctioned to cattle owners following electrocution of 20 cows in village Kadata of Sagar district. The sanctioned amount has been sent to the bank account of the persons concerned. It is worth mentioning that soon after the incident, Energy Minister Priyavrat Singh gave instructions to approve financial assistance. Total Rs 20,000 has been sanctioned for milching cows and Rs 16,000 for non-milching cows.

On August 25, in village Kadata of Rehli Rural Power Centre of Sagar district, due to heavy rains and lightening top pin insulator of 33 kv Patna Bujurg line got burst and the broken wire caused current flow in the water. As a result 20 cows got electrocuted. On the recommendation of the committee constituted to provide financial grant-in-aid at the circle level, financial assistance has been sanctioned to the owners of the dead cattle.

The amount sanctioned to the beneficiaries include Rs 20,000 to Babulal Karmi, Rs 16,000 to Sudama Dubey, Rs 32,000 to Hallu Kurmi, Rs 20,000 to Santosh Ahirwar, Rs 20,000 to Komal Goud, Rs 25,000 to Sitaram Namdev, Rs 35,000 to Lakshminarayan Prajapati, Rs 16,000 to Chatar alias Sitaram Kurmi, Rs 35,000 to Narayan Goud, Rs 16,000 to Sitaram Kurmi, Rs 16,000 to Govind Kurmi, Rs 16,000 to Ramdas Kurmi, Rs 16,000 to Karan Kurmi, Rs 20,000 to Puran Sahu, Rs 20,000 to Jhalkan Kurmi, Rs 16,000 to Kamlesh Sen and Rs 20,000 to Damodar Kurmi.
