Bhopal: To encourage tourism in the state, MP tourism awards have been instituted by the MP Tourism Development Corporation, a total of 513 entries were received and 447 entries were found complete and in order. Total 37 entries were rejected and 52 entries were found incomplete. Out of these 447 entries, award winning entries will be selected by the Jury for awards. It may be mentioned that online entries were invited in 22 different categories by the MP State Tourism Development Corporation. Entries, a maximum of 55 for Best Artisan in Arts and Crafts, 30 for Best Hotels and 25 for Best District Promotion Council (DTPC) were received.
Similarly, 21 entries each for Best Restaurant and Best Civil Managed city, 19 entries each for Best Travel Agent (MP), Best Tourist Guide, Best Eco-friendly Hotel, Best Innovative Tourism Project and Best Travel Writer/Blogger were received. Further, 15 entries for Best Tour Operator (National), 14 entries each for Best Tourism Transport Operators and Best Tourism Transport Operators MP (Turnover based), 13 entries each for Best Responsible Tourism Project, Best Paryatan Mitra and Rashtriya Udhhyan/Abhyaranya, 12 entries each for best WSA and Best Madhya Pradesh Paryatak Mitra Smarak on social media and 11 entries each for Best Chef and Best Stand Alone Restaurant were received. In the same manner, entries were received for Best Amusement/Water Park, Convention Center, Heritage Hotel, Best Adventure Tour Operator (Madhya Pradesh).
It is to be highlighted that in order to make Madhya Pradesh the best tourist destination and to encourage and to honour the people besides organizations for their innovative and new efforts, Excellence awards are instituted by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. Best entries will be conferred with awards by the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.
