Bhopal: A meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of the Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company was held here on Friday. Chouhan said that the role of local public representatives must be ensured in the works to be carried out by the company. Chouhan apprised himself about the proposed works to be carried out by the company. He asserted that the role of the elected local public representative must be ensured in the works. It is informed that the potable and sewage works in all the urban bodies of the state will be carried out by the company and works related to potable water project have been taken up in 128 towns by the company.

Out of these 32 works have been started and at the remaining places, works will be undertaken from the month of December. Most of the works will be completed by the year 2018. Similarly, sewage works in all the towns situated near Narmada River have been taken in cooperation with World Bank.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister is the Chairman of the company and Vice Chairman are Minister for Urban Development and the Chief Secretary. Commissioner of Urban development Department will be Ex Officio Managing Director of the company. Information about the duties and responsibilities of the office bearers besides other activities was given in the meeting.

Chief Secretary Antony DeSa, Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources RS Julania, Principal Secretary Revenue KK Singh, Principal Secretary PHE Pankaj Agarwal, Commissioner Urban development and Secretary to the Chief Minister Vivek Agarwal and other Officers were present in the meeting.
