Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has issued instructions to ensure proper electricity arrangement and avoid unnecessary cuts. He said that power cut despite surplus power is a serious issue. The Chief Minister has issued instructions to take stern action against officials responsible for it. He warned that officials-employees responsible for power cuts without a valid reason will not be spared.

Nath said that apart from technical shortcomings or faults no other reason for power cut will be tolerated. He said that electricity is a mandatory facility connected to the farmers and general public. Officials and employees connected with the electricity department should make undaunted efforts and work with total sensitivity to ensure this citizen’s facility under all circumstances.

The Chief Minister said that continuous supply of power for 24 hours for the general consumers and 10-hours of continuous supply for agricultural work must be ensured. No callousness of any kind will be tolerated in this.

Chief Minister Nath directed that any technical damage or fault in electricity supply should be repaired promptly. He said that the complaint system should also function properly so people’s phone calls are attended to and their complaints are redressed immediately. The Chief Minister told to fix the time of power cuts for maintenance before monsoon so that general public do not suffer. He instructed that the information of power cut for maintenance work should be provided to general public well in time.

Notably, pre-monsoon showers have hit parts of Madhya Pradesh and the residents have started facing problems of power disruptions.
