Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has asked the concerning authorities to encourage tourism friendly attitude and have special attention on development of requisite infrastructure to make Madhya Pradesh as a Tourism State. The Chief Minister said that the tourism promotion publicity ventures and marketing of the tourist sites must focus on ‘mouth publicity’ as it is effective. He said that the government intends to create employment opportunities in tourism sector. He was reviewing strategies and future plans to harness the potential of tourism sector at a meeting at Mantralaya here on Saturday.

The Chief Minister said that tourist circuits and a destination hub should be created in such a manner that a tourist could visit more than one tourist destinations. He also asked the authorities to arrange helicopter service for a hassle-free transport. This will save time of tourists and they could visit more places. He said that in order to boost tourism industry, tourism policies of all those states should be studied where tourism has become a lucrative business.

The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh offers all types of tourism from nature to heritage tourism. The need is to formulate a policy, which could speed up the progress of tourism industry. An impressive tourism promotion strategy is a must. This will enable the local youth to get job opportunities. The Chief Minister further said that better coordination is required in all government and non government agencies in order to attract tourists, and institutions. Tourism friendly behaviour plays an important role, he added.

The Principal Secretary, Tourism, Hari Ranjan Rao gave detailed presentation. Chief Secretary SR Mohanty Additional Chief Secretary Forest KK Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anurag Jain and senior officials were present.
