Bhopal: Soon after Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned as Congress AICC General Secretary, his supporters have raised a demand to appoint him as Congress national president here on Monday. First the demand was witnessed in a poster that has come up at PCC seeking Scindia’s appointment as party national president. In a dramatic manner the poster also vanished few hours after it was put up on the entry gate of the PCC.

Meanwhile, those from the Scindia camp were quick to support the demand during media interactions at assembly where Monsoon Session got underway on Monday. A staunch loyalist of Scindia, Food minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar replying to the media on the issue, candidly backed his candidature for the top post saying he is young, impartial in the party and has his own youthful charm.

Quoting Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh who has backed a youth candidate for party chief’s post, Tomar who recently was in news with his differences with CM Kamal Nath, said Scindia was the perfect choice to lead the party. The minister also clarified Scindia wasn’t in the race for any post and had his own credence in the party. Tomar was among those who till now were backing Scindia as PCC chief.
