Bhopal: Besides repeating old promises made during the Vachan Patra (election manifesto) released in year 2018 assembly polls, Congress party on Saturday issued the manifesto for bypolls announcing to introduce Gaudhan Nyay Yojana on the lines of neighbouring Chhattsigarh.
For aiding farmers and cattle owners, the Chhattisgarh government early this year has introduced Gaudhan Nyay Yojana under which the state government will buy cowdung from farmers and cattle owners at Rs 2 per kg.
Congress party has tried emulating the scheme in Madhya Pradesh by announcing it in the election manifesto.
Among old announcements, the party has promised to restart Jai Kisan Yojana for farm loan waivers, to continue Rs 100 per 100 units of electricity, re-introduction of Rs 51,000 monetary assistance under Kanyadan yojana, resumption of Shuddh ke Liye Yuddh against adulteration, social security pension to be hiked upto Rs 1000 per month and state government will pay fee of the youths appearing in competitive exams and so on.
Gwalior-Chambal region being in the helm of bypolls got slew of announcements including conversion of barren land in the region into agri land, events at educational institutions to amrk the valour of queen Laxmibai, new schools and sporting facilities in Gwalior-Chambal region, efforts for rapid industrialisation of this region, industrial clusters on either sides of Chambal highway and so on.
Since Jyotiraditya Scindia left to join BJP, Congress party has been engaged in paying special attention to Rani Laxmibai’s heritage and MPCC chief Kamal Nath had paid a visit to Laxmibai’s tomb in Gwalior. The party as against 954 points in Vachan Patra in 2018 assembly polls had added 52 new points in the documents for bypolls..
As local vachan patras sent to constituencies had no pics of Rahul Gandhi, the party this time included pictures of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi among others on the Vachan Patra. “The public is with the Congress party and with the help of our Vachan Patra, we will return to power and start working for fulfilling our promises,” said Kamal Nath on the occasion.
