Bhopal: Concessions are being given by the state government to set up Mega Food Park to encourage food processing industries. An assistance of 15 per cent of the project cost or maximum Rs 5 crore to set up mega Food Park on 30 acre land in private sector is being provided. This assistance is payable at minimum 10 food processing units in the developed park. Moreover, this grant sum is payable in the form of top up.

Further, benefit of this concession is being provided to the promoters also on establishment of mega Food Park. Provision to reimburse stamp fee paid towards transfer of land has been made for the promoters. Adjustment of land utilized for common infrastructure development in mega Food Park will be done by increasing 30 percent of land demanded by the unit. By this way, chargeable fee on land purchased by the unit will be adjusted. A minimum charge of Rs 500 will be taken for transfer if any charge on adjustment is not customary. Sanction of grant and assistance is being provided to the mega food park by the horticulture and food processing directorate.

Moreover, concession is also being given to encourage research and development activities in the food processing units. Provision to reimburse an amount of Rs 5 lakh for each patent has been made after receiving patent in the mega food park. Also, exemption is being given to the food processing units to encourage export. Provision has been made to adjust amount spent on transportation of perishable items on fulfilling a maximum of Rs 10 lakh limit per annum at the rate of 30 per cent under the mega food park promotion policy.
