Indore: Refusing to go into number of MoUs inked during the investors’ summit –Magnificent MP, organised at Indore on Friday, Chief Minister Kamal Nath said he does not believe in optical illusion adding that several big corporations have promised investment in Madhya Pradesh during the mega event.
‘We in the last ten months have changed the way in governance and we introduced the investors to this change in the summit,” said the CM addressing the media on the side-lines of the summit attended by leading business delegates including – Adi Godrej of Godrej group, N Shrinivasan of India Cements, Vikram Kirloskar from Kirloskar group, Rakesh Bharti from Bharti Enterprises, Lapp India’s Marc Jarrault, Dilip Sanghvi from Sun Pharma, Ravi Jhunjhunwala from HEG and others attended the meet.
Claiming that the summit has led to numerous investment proposals but he won’t get into them as he don’t wish to convert the event into a cosmetic event and wishes to boost economic activities which would benefit the public. You people have seen such summits in the past as well and all know what was the final result, said Nath in an apparent dig at BJP government’s investors’ summits.
Nath on the occasion announced that he has formulated a policy to do away with all the permission for new investors saying companies coming to the state could directly start their project, given they comply with the local norms. An inspection would take place after three years and we would omly take action in case the investor flouts our norms. “The idea is that if some company is expressing faith in us, we would also reciprocate.”
“This year we organised the event with theme ‘Emerging Economic Tiger’ but in next two years, we wish to remove this emerging tag,” Nath said, claiming that they are formulating separate policies for different sectors and won’t persist with a single policy as all industries have different kind of needs.
Speaking on IT sector, Nath said efforts are made to boost the sector so much that our local talents working elsewhere return to the state. He also promised a business district in MP like Bandra-Kurla Complex of Mumbai.
