Ujjain: Leaving behind all important assignments, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan rushed to Ujjain tonight to take stock of damaged caused by rains and storm in Simhastha Mela area this afternoon. At local Rest House, he gave necessary directives after discussions with senior officers to restore all basic amenities at the earliest. He also held detailed discussions with officers responsible for Mela arrangements. The Chief Minister said that despite two natural calamites within a week, government staff has shown unity, commitment and dedication to work to ensure success of Simhastha, which is highly admirable.

All staff deployed in Simhastha will be given reward of Rs 5,000 each. Committed government staff not only discharged their duties well, but also set example for rendering service for 20 hours. Such government servants must be rewarded. He said that such divers and sanitary workers will also be selected for rewards. Those present during discussions included In-charge Minister Bhupendra Singh, MP Dr Chintamani Malviya, Manohar Untwal, MLAs Dr Mohan Yadav and Anil Firojiya, Chairman of Text-Book Corporation Rai Singh Sendhav, Arvind Menon etc. Chief Minister Chouhan said that he salutes people attending Simhastha since they have displayed unflinching devotion. I also salute saints, seers, Yogis, Giris, Das and Mahamandaleshwars who conducted Shahi Snan smoothly today.
