Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan performed Pooja-Archana of Maa Narmada the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh at the origin and pious place Amarkantak in the evening today. Chouhan performed Maha Arti and prayed for the prosperity and happiness of the people of the state. He urged the people of the state to make Narmada River pure and clean river of the world. Chouhan performed pooja chanting mantras with religious rituals. Chief Minister Chouhan will inaugurate the Namami Devi Narmade Seva yatra being organized from Dcember 11 with an objective to conserve Narmada river and to spread awareness about it. Yatra will end on May 11, 2017.

Chouhan said that state has the responsibility to pay the debt of the life line of the state Maa Narmada. He said that Holy Narmada is getting polluted from its origin to all the catchment area. He apologized before Maa Narmada for this. Chouhan said that he has taken pledge to make the Narmada river pollution free. This pledge is to pay the debt of Maa Narmada. He further said that both the banks of the river should be cleaned and pollution free. Toilets will be constructed in all the houses. We will put Hari Chunri on both the banks of river Narmada by plantation. That is why Narmada Seva Yatra is being organized from December 11.

On this occasion Food and Civil Supplies Minister Omprakash Dhurve, State Minister for MSME (Independent Charge) Sanjay-Satyendra Pathak. Tribal Development and Finance Corporation Chairman Shivraj Shah, Yatra Cordinator Jitendra Jamdar, Vice President of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Raghvendra Gautam, public representative and large number of people were present.
