Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Lokpal will be established in Cooperative Department for the first time in Madhya Pradesh. This kind of arrangement will be made in all the departments for internal vigilance. He was addressing the inaugural session of Sahkari Manthan at Samanvay Bhavan today. Notably, two-day manthan is being organized for deliberations keeping in view the role of cooperative societies in changing environment. Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang and Member of Parliament Nandkumar Singh Chouhan were present on the occasion.

Chouhan said that a new movement to generate employment should be set out through cooperatives. There is vast possibility for employment in the cooperative sector. Cooperative is a movement to bring changes in the peoples life. All the primary cooperative societies should be computerised. Fair price shops should be made multi objectives. Social security pension and labour of MNREGA should be paid through cooperative banks. Chouhan further mentions that cooperative organizations play an important role to eradicate poverty and unemployment.

Moreover, Chouhan stated that Madhya Pradesh has topped in the growth rate and agriculture growth rate on Friday. Development is meaningful when it reaches poor. Everyone has equal right over the resources. Cooperative has played an important role as regard to implementation of schemes for the welfare of poor such as provision of wheat, rice and salt at the rate of one rupee per kg, procurement of wheat on support price and providing loans to farmers at zero percent interest rate. Recovery of loans on time is in the benefit of the farmers.

Better work has been undertaken like milk production and marketing of forest produce and oranges through cooperative societies. Now cooperative sector should be expanded by producing ayurvedic medicines through linking of non government organizations to generate employment. Chouhan said that cooperative department has done a better work by implementing file tracking system. This system will be implemented in other departments also.

Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang said that a six month calendar has been prepared by the cooperative department and activities will be carried out as per the calendar. Manthan is being organized for deliberations. Madhya Pradesh is progressing rapidly in the country because of implementation of welfare schemes in deliberations with all the sections of the society. Innovation wing has been set up in the department which will make roadmap for the next two years. Group discussion will be held in two day manthan between 9 groups on different subjects. Based on this vision document will be prepared. Each and every farmer of the state becomes member of the primary cooperative society will be ensured. Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said that cooperative has played an important role in the development of the state.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the E-File Tracking System of the Cooperative Department and released Branding manual of APEX bank. Chouhan honoured societies working under cooperative department, officers and employees with awards for their excellent work. Chairman, Vice Chairman and CEO of district cooperative banks of Hoshangabad, Raisen and Balaghat were awarded for excellent recovery and linking works. Similarly, Managers of Bhopal main branch, Awadhpuri, MP Nagar and Piplani were awarded for their excellent work.

Chairman of State Marketing Federation Ramakant Bhargava, Chairman of State Consumer Federation Ratan Yadav and Chairman of State Minor Forest Produce Federation Mahesh Kori were present in the programme. Welcome speech was given by the Commissioner Cooperatives Manish Shrivastava whereas vote of thanks was given by Principal Secretary Cooperatives Ajit Kesri. Manthan is being organized jointly by the Cooperative Department and APEX Bank.
