Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has stressed that higher education and skill development should be of good quality. He said that our goal is to ensure that every educated and trained youth gets employment opportunities. For this, setting up Knowledge Corporation Limited in the state will be considered. Nath was reviewing the Department of Higher Education and Skill Development at the Mantralaya on Friday. Higher Education Minister, Jitu Patwari was present.
Nath said that higher education and skill development should not just be a ritual. Pay special attention to faculties in the field of higher education. In skill development, we have to pay special attention to the faculty through whom our youth will get employment. He said that instead of focusing on the numerical strength in the field of teaching and training, we must constantly make an assessment as to how many got jobs.
The Chief Minister said that the department should develop financial sources of its own for the availability of modern resources in the field of higher education. He said that industries should be approached to formulate a target oriented strategy towards achieving maximum support from Corporate-Social Resource.
Chief Minister Nath said that local needs of the industries and trade should also be studied in the areas of skill development that can provide immediate employment to educated, trained youth. The Chief Minister has told to register all private coaching centres and utilize the best among these coaching institutes to make the youth skilled in the field of education.
Policy-based issues regarding higher education and skill development were also discussed during the meeting. The Chief Minister issued instructions to make recruitments against vacant posts, establish Skill University, making Common Career Portal, College of Excellence and set up institutes like IIT and IIM, increase Gross Enrollment Ration (GER) in the field of higher education and prepare a detailed work-plan immediately in connection with providing coaching to students on PPP model from private coaching institutes
Chief Secretary SR Mohanty, Principal Secretary Higher Education Saleena Singh, Commissioner Higher Education Raghavendra Kumar Singh were present in the meeting.
