Bhopal: Indian Cinema has not picturised those inspirational personalities which should be filmed. In 90s decade, common mans image was displayed as hero in the cinema but now it is vanished from the cinema. Films based on realities are not being made. This was said by the film producer and writer Vivek Agnihotri on the third day at the parallel session of Lok Manthan on the subject Bharatiya Filmon ka Badalta Paridrashya. Agnihotri said that 1400 short and big films were made on Jesus by the foreign media. Our countrys cinema has put away Great personalities like Guru Nanak, Gautma Buddha, Mahavir and Gandhi from the cinema. These personalities must be catalogued.

He further said that we should see the changes in the film producers before understand changing scenario. In the past, film producers and actors were used to come forward for help of the people at the time of crisis. But today film producers take one month time to say that they love India after Uri attack. He said that films have always displayed struggle between deprived section and exploiters, where the hero is common man of India. No common man face is shown in the films being made today.

Actress and Member Rajya Sabha Rupa Ganguli said that we should learn always good from the history. Films exhibits truth. We respect all kind of views in India. There is no culture of ban in India. She mentioned that film producers and some actors/ actress say something to create dispute for publicity. We should understand this and avoid it. Ganguli further said that NFDC should encourage small and youth film producers and writers. Referring to the decision on black money by the union government, Ganguli said that this will impact film industry definitely, but this is must in the interest of the country. This decision has moved India 10 years ahead. People will learn to respect Rs 10, 20 and 50 notes, she added.

Film Producer of South Indian Films TS Nagbharn said that a new kind of patriotism has been noticed in the films since last one decade. Earlier films based on freedom movement and love towards country was made. Today, Films like Chak De India, Lagaan and Bhag Milkha Bhag are produced. He further said that India cinema is linked to the International arena. Present era is the golden era for film industries undergoing through transition.

Presiding over the session, Film Producer Madhur Bhandarkar said that he has made films based on reality. He is making film Indu Sarkar based on emergency. Giving examples of 9/11 and 26/11, he said that sometimes these kind of incidents took place in reality which are never seen in the films.
