Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Gourishankar Bisen has come under the line of fire from another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator over the assault on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak Suresh Yadav. BJP legislator from Narsinghpur Jalam Singh Patel has demanded Bisen’s resignation owing moral responsibility for the attack. Bisen is responsible for the assault on the RSS pracharak. He hails from Balaghat district and is answerable for every incident occurring there. Therefore, he should step down on moral grounds, Patel told.

Earlier, BJP legislator from Tendukheda Sanjay Sharma had raised similar demand. State BJP President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan issued a show-cause notice to Sharma last night over the matter and sought a reply within seven days. On a show-cause notice being issued to Sharma over similar demand, Patel said he would reply if a show-cause notice were issued to him.

In the wake of a complaint filed at Balaghat’s Baihar Police Station that RSS pracharak Suresh Yadav had posted objectionable comments on cross-platform messaging service WhatsApp, Baihar Town Inspector (TI) Ziaul Haq and other policemen reached the district RSS office and thrashed him brutally. He was admitted to the District Hospital from where he was sent to a hospital in Jabalpur.

Nearly 8-10 policemen, including the TI, were booked on charges of attempt to murder following the assault. Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Sharma was suspended in the connection. However, RSS workers are demanding the arrest of the cops. The issue had also found echo during the BJP’s two-day state executive meeting held in Gwalior following which Home Minister Bhupendra Singh had to reply over the matter. A team of senior police officials, including from the Crime Investigation Department, has been formed to investigate into the matter.
