Ujjain: All basic facilities including power, drinking water, toilets, roads etc have restored in Mangalanth zone of Simhastha Mela area at Ujjain have been restored after being affected by cyclonic storm in this evening. As soon as information was received about leakage of a sewage lines in Bhukhi Mata area it was immediately repaired by Dutt Akhara zones staff. On receipt of information about opening of sewage on Ramghat, Mahakal zones sanitary staff closed it immediately. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has described deaths of devotees due to cyclonic storm as highly painful. Paying tributes to the deceased, he has wishes early recovery to the injured. Chouhan said that along with ex-gratia, kin of the deceased and the injured will also be provided insurance amount. Process of holy dip devotees of Panchkroshi Yatra is continuing at Ramghat. There has been no affect of this storm on Panchkroshi Yatra. It concluded without any interruption.
From drains and nullahs in Mela area, water is being lifted through tankers and disposed of safely. Similarly, toilets, chambers and drains on all ghats have been properly cleaned. Clean water is continuously flowing in Kshipra river for holy dip by devotees during second Shahi Snan.
Situation has completely returned to normal after cyclone and rains in Mangalanth zone of Simhastha Mela area at Ujjain today. Injured are being properly treated. Chief Minster Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will take stocks of relief works, treatment of the injured and efforts to bring situation to normal tonight itself. Work to smoothen roads by spreading powder of gitti to soak mud will continue throughout the night. PWD and entire staff of Municipal Corporation is engaged in this work. Government staff is also repairing Pandals of saints and seers rapidly.
All schools in the city have been opened for stay of devotees arriving for the holy dip for second Shahi Snan on May 6. Meals are also being provided to devotees in Pandals of saints and seers. Administration will also provide food stuff to devotees.
Notably, main affect of cyclonic storm and rains was on Mangalnath zone this afternoon. This zone is situated near ancient lakes in Ujjain and Simhastha Mela area. Water logged in the zone is being flushed out rapidly so that devotees face no problem.
