Bhopal: The largest super specialty eye care centre Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre was inaugurated by Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang. The hospital would offer treatment for almost all major diseases of the eye and would adopt holistic approach of treatment, factoring in the entire health profile of a patient. The new centre would begin operations from Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Clinics, Panchakarma Centre Pvt Ltd, House No; 20 Sakshi Bungalow, Mahakali Line, Trilanga, Bhopal. On the occasion, Sreejith NP, Director, Sreedhareeyam said the treatment procedures for various eye diseases are prescribed in the ancient ayurvedic text.

With the new facility, we hope to treat more patients, suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa and Diabetic Retinopathy, which is attributed to be the deadliest eye diseases and can even lead to blindness.

Dr Narayan Namboothiri, Chief Medical Officer, Sreedhareeyam, added, We have recorded nearly 60 per cent success rate in treating Retinitis Pigmentosa and Diabetic Retinopathy and for rest of the cases, we have found that Ayurveda has helped prevent further deterioration. Ayurveda treats eye ailments holistically.

Tom Jose, Business Head, Sreedhareeyam, added, For Ayurvedic Ophthalmology, we have developed ayurvedic eye drops and capsules that retain all values of traditional medicinal formulas. Sreejith NP informed that Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Group intends to collaborate with similar foundations to create and spread awareness about the ayurvedic treatment facilities for several eye ailments.
