Bhopal: To ensure attendance of students in technical education institutes, it should be made online. Attendance of students should be uploaded on web portal daily. Parents and students would get information about regular attendance. The arrangement would remove problems in forwarding examination forms. Minister of state for technical education (independent charge), school and labour Deepak Joshi said in it in a seminar on ‘technical education towards quality’. Joshi said that the decision to hold national level test for entrance in engineering courses was taken at the central level. It would not be proper to hold entrance test at state level. He said that decision to organise college level counselling was taken in the interest of the institutes but complaints of irregularities came afore in it.
Joshi said that permission would not be given to open new engineering college. He said that problems of private engineering colleges would be removed by holding meeting with them in every two months. Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya would be made fully online. Students would not need to visit the university. He said that every engineering college should have playground and things related with it. Every institute must have books providing knowledge and moral education.
Joshi said that institutes should ensure that no student should get entry without helmet and driving licence. He said that students and teachers should be encouraged for cashless transaction. Joshi said that arrangement would be made from next session to organise engineering examination in Hindi medium as well. He said that all institutes should arrange books in Hindi in library.
Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Kalpana Shrivastava said that a centralised portal would be introduced for technical education. Information from admission to placement would be available on it. She said that a committee would be constituted for amendment in technical education curriculum. Shrivastava said that providing education to weaker section students is the government’s first priority. She said that students would get admission only when college is excellence.
Chairmen and directors of private engineering colleges gave important suggestions in the seminar. They said to form joint working committee and allow colleges to choose university. Additional Secretary, Technical Education Sunil Gupta and Director Dr Virendra Kumar were present in the seminar.
