Indore: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that all the villages will be connected with main roads by year 2022. He said that country will develop through development of villages. Chouhan was addressing Gram Sabha at village Burhi Barlai in Sanwer development block of Indore district on Monday. He said that a strategy has been chalked out to connect villages with main roads. The Chief Minister said that development has been ensured in all sectors in the state during last 13 years. Area under irrigation has been expanded to increase agriculture production. Narmada has been linked with Kshipra river.
In coming years, work to interlink major rivers in the state will be undertaken on priority. He said that Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan will continue till May 31 continuously. During it, not only problems of villagers will be solved, but beneficiaries under government’s beneficiary-oriented schemes will also be selected.
The Chief Minister said that due to unprecedented agriculture growth, the state is getting Central government’s Krishi Karman Award consecutively for last 4 years. He said that along with traditional farming, farmers should also move towards farming of fruits and flowers. He said that government will give pension to couples having 2 girls on attaining 55 years of age. Childless women will be given assistance for treatment. The Chief Minister said that male-female gender ratio has improved in the state due to Ladli Laxmi Yojana. It was informed that development works costing about Rs 4.25 crore have been undertaken during last 5 years in Burhi Barlai Gram Panchayat.
