Bhopal: As per the resolution of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, 6 crore saplings will be planted in 24 districts of Narmada basin on July 2. Under the programme, 3 crore saplings will be planted by the Forest department whereas remaining 3 crore saplings will be planted by Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Urban Administration, School Education department etc. Work to dig pits in concerned districts is in progress.

Saplings of fruit bearing and umbrageous trees will be planted on July 2 in 24 districts namely Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Jabalpur, Katni, Indore, Dhar, Alirajpur, Dewas, Khandwa, Badwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Damoh, Sagar, Harda, Hoshangabad, Raisen, Betul, Chhindwara, Sehore and Balaghat district. Intensive plantation will help facing the challenges of global warming and climate change besides providing constant water to Narmada River.

Training will be imparted regarding preparations for Guinness Book of World Record in Academy of Administration and Management on June 20. Two Resource Person from each district will be trained in the training programme. The Resource persons will give training to witness and steward who will be appointed in the process of World Record. It may be mentioned that record presented by the witness and steward as per the guidelines of World Record is utmost necessary to hold World Record.

Keeping in view the Guinness World Record, 2 each officer-employee will be stationed at each plantation site for verification of plants and arrangements for photography and videography of plantation is being made. G.P.S. mapping is being made of each plantation site to identify the sites.

Online registration arrangements are being made for maximum public participation in plantation. About One lakh 50 thousand persons have registered on www.namamidevinarmade.mp.gov.in for plantation on July 2.

Necessary saplings of forestry species have been arranged by the Forest department and private nurseries. Saplings of fruit bearing plants are being arranged from Horticulture department, government and private nurseries beside other states. Pits are being dug by various departments as per the plantation target set for them. Pits digging work is nearing completion in many districts.
