37 schemes for slum dwellers
Bhopal: Implementation on 37 schemes for construction of pucca houses for the poor and improvement of slums is going on at a fast pace in 34 cities of Madhya Pradesh. The cost of these schemes being conducted under Integrated Housing and Slum Improvement Project is Rs 27035.99 lakh.
Development of tribal villages
Bhopal: The poor families of about 3,000 tribal-dominant villages have chalked out detailed schemes for the development of their respective villages. The development schemes have been chalked out with the cooperation of rural communities in the villages situated in Jhabua, Dhar, Barwani, Alirajpur, Shahdol, Anuppur, Mandla, Dindori and Sheopur. This will help Gram Panchayats, Janpad Panchayats, Zila Panchayats and district administration to assess the situation of development in the rural areas, chalk out future plans and start various new programmes for development.
Annual plan of Rs 18014 crore approved
Bhopal: The proposed annual Plan for the year 2010-11 of Rs 18014 crore was approved at a meeting of State Planning Commission here today. This includes funds received for Bundelkhand area and the additional funds received under the recommendations of 13th Finance Commission.
MoU for power plant in Khandwa
Bhopal: The Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that he had requested the Prime Minister seeking environmental clearance from the Central Government for the proposed power projects of Madhya Pradesh. It is the need of the hour that the politicians should work for the welfare of the common people giving up the practice of criticism and the Central and the State Governments should together accelerate the pace of development working in unison in key areas of development including the energy sector.
City roads to be handed to urban bodies
Bhopal: Except the national highways and state-level roads, all the roads of other departments in cities will be transferred along with budget to urban bodies for their maintenance. Urban Administration Minister Gaur and Public Works Minister Nagendra Singh agreed with the suggestion that a long-term policy-based decision should be taken in connection with transfer of roads in the cities to the urban bodies from PWD and other departments.
Society’s cooperation for development
Bhopal: It is a prerequisite to solicit the cooperation of the society to give a concrete shape to the concept of development. The government alone cannot give positive results without the cooperation of the society. Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni made this observation while addressing a one-day workshop on the ‘Role of Women in Good Governance’ at Administration Academy here on Wednesday.
NRI Cell soon in Madhya Pradesh
New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced constitution of an NRI Cell in Madhya Pradesh during the interactive session of 8th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas conference here today. He said that this cell will be under Chief Minister's Secretariat and he will himself undertake its monitoring. Chouhan said that this cell will be established with the express purpose of early solution to NRI investors problems due to which NRI investors will not have to face any difficulty in investment or otherwise in Madhya Pradesh.
NRIs asked to invest in MP
New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed to non-resident Indians to invest in technical and other educational institutions of private sector or public-private participation with a view to increasing the technical and educational skills. The Chief Minister was addressing the NRIs at the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi today. Madhya Pradesh government will extend all possible help for this.
Shivraj seeks help for electoral reforms
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sought the cooperation of MLAs, MPs, national leaders of various political parties and social activists to cooperate in bringing about a general consensus on his suggestions for electoral reforms and getting rid of continual elections. Chouhan has sent four separate letters to all these persons soliciting their cooperation.
Dedicate 2010 to golden MP concept
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked government departments to dedicate the year 2010 to the concept of golden Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister has instructed all the departments to implement development programmes at a rapid pace, complete the targeted works within the deadline and follow the recommendations of Manthan during the New Year.
