Bharat Rang festival from Jan 12
Bhopal: Bharat Rang national festival will be organised at Bhopal by National School of Drama, New Delhi with the cooperation of Madhya Pradesh Department of Culture. The festival will be inaugurated at Ravindra Bhawan on January 12. Under the programme, from January 13, plays will be stated at Bharat Bhawan from 6 pm and 7.45 pm at Ravindra Bhawan. On January 13, Bharat Katha Bahubhashi will be staged at Bharat Bhawan and English, Hindi and Bangla play 'Bhor' at Ravindra Bhawan.

Bhopal: World's leading non-fiction channel Discovery has launched its new programme 'Discover More' every night at 8 pm to showcase packed enthralling programmes. “Embodying a sense of imagination and exhilaration, the one hour time-band will showcase breathtaking natural events, pioneering medical science, innovative future technologies, remote geographies, engineering marvels, mega constructions and much more,” said Rajiv Bakshi, Director, Marketing, India, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific at a press meet here today.
Kishore Kumar award on Tuesday
Bhopal: Twelfth National Kishore Kumar Award would be conferred upon late Gulshan Bawra by the Government of Madhya Pradesh at Khandwa on October 13. Wife of late Gulshan Bawara, Ms Anju Mehta would receive the award from the Minister for Culture and Public Relations, Laxmikant Sharma. Indian Idol Fame, Abhijeet Sawant would perform on the occasion. The programme to be organised at Raichand Nagda School of Excellence, Khandwa would be free from entry fee.
Katrina not to work with Vivek Oberoi
Bhopal: Bollywood's glamarous actress Katrina Kaif today admitted that she would not work with actor Vivek Oberoi to appease Salman Khan as the former made an adverse remark about the latter. “I have no intention to work with Vivek,” Katrina, who came here along with Ranbir Kapoor for the shooting of Prakash Jha's film 'Rajneeti', said to a query from the media. Salman gave an interview to an English daily recently in which he said Katrina could work with all actors except one (Vivek Oberoi).
Drama School soon in Bhopal
Bhopal: The state government has decided to open a Drama School at Bhopal. For this purpose a steering committee has been constituted which comprises specialist theatre persons. Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma chaired the first meeting of this steering committee here today. Secretary Culture Manoj Shrivastava, steering committee members including Prabhat Kumar Bhattacharya of Ujjain, Prof. Kamlesh Dutt Tripathi of Benaras, Chandraprakash Dwivedi of Mumbai, Sanjay Upadhyaya of Patna, Sushri Vani Tripathi of Delhi, Suresh Bhardwaj and Lokendra Trivedi were present at the meeting.
First global cinema festival at Indore
Bhopal: The first Global Cinema Festival of Madhya Pradesh will be held at Indore from October 8 to 15. Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma reviewed preparations of this Cinema festival at a high-level meeting here today. Secretary Culture Manoj Shrivastava, president of Film Federation of India and other office-bearers were present at the meeting. On the lines of International Film Festival of Goa, an idea has been conceived to hold first Global Cinema Festival of Madhya Pradesh. Films of international and national importance will be screened at this Cinema Festival.
Huge prize in Bindaas Dadagiri
Bhopal: “The kind language and behaviour used with the contestants in adventurous reality shows are only to provoke contestants for better performance in the task,” told Akash, the host of the second season of the Bindaas Dadagiri while talking to media persons here on Friday. Akash along with other show members Vishal and Sonali and Channel Head Heather Gupta were in the state capital on Friday to promote the adventurous reality show of channel Bindaas, the youth channel of UTV group to be on-aired from July 11.
