Four suspended in death of children
Bhopal: Taking stern action following the death of four children due to measles vaccination in Damoh, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Anup Mishra has ordered for suspension of district vaccination officer Dr Anupam Kulshreshta, LHV Vaccination Centre's S Nayak and MPW. Durga Tiwari with immediate effect and instructed the Health Commissioner to submit an enquiry report. The government has announced assistance to the tune of Rs 10 thousand each to the affected families.
1,22,422 infants died in four years
Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government today admitted in the Assembly that 1,22,422 infants died of various ailments in the state over the past four years. In a written reply to Mahendra Singh Kalukheda (Cong), Health Minister Anup Mishra quoted a National Family Health Survey report as saying that 60 per cent were victims of malnourishment while between 2005-06 and 2008-09 there were 1,22,422 fatalities due to malaria, pneumonia, diarrhoea and measles.
Appointment of doctors in gas hospitals
Bhopal: The advisory committee of Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department has given go-ahead for appointment of doctors and paramedical staff in gas hospitals. This will remove the crisis of doctors, senior and specialist physicians and nurses in these hospitals. This decision was taken at a meeting of the advisory committee held at the Vidhan Sabha committee hall. It was chaired by Gas Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Babulal Gaur. Committee's members MLA Arif Aqeel and MLA Jitendra Daga were also present on the occasion.
Another IAS officer Rajesh Rajora sacked
Bhopal: The state Government suspended another IAS officer Rajesh Rajora from the service following Income Tax raid at his Bhopal residence last year. Besides Rajora, the government also suspended present Health Director, Dr Ashok Sharma from the service as the Lokayukta is probing serious complaints against him in six cases and an Income Tax (I-T) department’s report has also said that his wealth is disproportionate to his known sources of income, official sources said here on Wednesday.
Procession against foeticide
Gwalior: A silent procession was taken out in Gwalior against female foeticide. Hundreds of people from Gwalior division were on the streets to take part in the procession. Holding banners with slogans 'Save Daughters' and their mouths masked by a cloth to signify the silenced voice of the girl child, both men and women activists held hands to form a long human chain and stood in solidarity as a part of this rally.
Institutional deliveries in MP lauded
Bhopal: An 11-member team of National Rural Health Mission from New Delhi has lauded the efforts of Madhya Pradesh government in checking mother and child mortality rate and increasing the number of institutional deliveries. The team also praised the state government’s decision to establish a call centre and start emergency vehicle express in every district, which will provide medicare to general patients as well besides pregnant women under Janani Express Yojana.
Make arrangements more effective: Gaur
Bhopal: Urban Administration and Development and Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Babulal Gaur inspected various dispensaries being run to provide relief to gas-affected people in Bhopal today and instructed the concerning officials to make the arrangements there more effective. During the inspection of Rasool Ahmad Siddiqui Pulmonary Centre, Jahangirabad, Gaur instructed to develop a park. At Maa Karma Devi Daycare Centre, Karod, he instructed to post a lady doctor and increase the dispensary's timings.
ART links in all districts soon
Bhopal: With a view to putting an effective check on AIDS, Link ARTs should be set up in every district from where AIDS patients can get medicines. These instructions were given by Minister for Public Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education, AYUSH, Biodiversity & Biotechnology and Public Grievances Redressal Anup Mishra at the meeting of AIDS Control Committee. Those present at the meeting included Secretary Public Health & Family Welfare SR Mohanty, Commissioner Health Manohar Agnani, Secretary Health and Executive Director AIDS Control Committee Omesh Mundra.
Vehicles for civic surgeons
Bhopal: With a view to providing more mobility to health services in the state, vehicles will be made available to all the civil surgeons so that they can undertake more tours. All the block programme officers will be provided laptops with internet data card. This will give a fillip to computerization. Best Performance Awards will be bestowed on ASHA workers with a view to motivating them and incentive money will be given to the rural health committees coming out with best performances.
District panels to monitor health services
Bhopal: Constitution of a committee at the district level for monitoring health arrangements will be considered. This committee will directly report to the government about the arrangements at hospitals in the districts. Deployment of specialist doctors of all the 12 streams of medicine at the district hospitals will be ensured. Water purifier will be installed in every hospital. Dietitian will be appointed in all the 50 districts. The process of filling vacant posts will be expedited.
