Maintain strict vigil on law and order
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the collectors to keep a strict vigil on the law and order situation and take all precautionary measures. He asked them to have dialogue with the people of all communities, people's representatives and hold regular meetings of peace committees. He said that collectors would be held responsible for disturbed law and order situation owing to delayed action. Chouhan was addressing the collectors at through video conferencing at Samadhan Online Programme at Mantrayala here on Tuesday.
Check AIDS effectively, says minister
Bhopal: Effective steps should be undertaken for checking AIDS and creating awareness among people about it. These instructions were given by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Mahendra Hardia. He was reviewing activities of AIDS Control Committee at the Mantralaya here. Controller of AIDS Control Committee and Commissioner Health JN Kansotiya was also present on the occasion.
Further equip hospitals, directs CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the health department's top officials to further strengthen management of hospitals equipping them with all arrangements for early detection of diseases like swine-flue, dengue and malaria. He was reviewing the precautionary measures and future action plans of health department here today.
Teachers felicitated on Teachers’ Day
Bhopal: Governor Rameshwar Thakur honoured teachers at a function organised at Ravindra Bhavan today on the occasion of Teachers' Day. School Education Minister Archana Chitnis presided over the function. On this occasion Rameshwar Thakur said that the teacher is always a respected and revered person in Indian culture since ancient times. Therefore, respecting them is the responsibility of the whole society. Referring to his relationship with the famous thinker and educationist Sarvepalli Radhakrishna, Thakur said that an ideal teacher works with dedication towards himself and humanity.
Improvement in marketing to be discussed
Bhopal: The third meeting of in-charge ministers of agriculture marketing constituted by the Central Government will be held at Khajuraho on September 6. The committee will discuss ways and means for improvement in marketing system of agricultural produces. The first meeting of this committee was held in the month of May, 2010 at New Delhi and the second meeting at Masoori in July 2010. Agriculture Marketing and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Maharashtra Harshwardhan Patil is the chairman of the committee.
Isolation ward for swine flu patients
Bhopal: Gas Relief Minister Babulal Gaur inspected the arrangements made for treating swine flu patients in Hamidia Hospital and Jawaharlal Nehru and Shakir Ali hospitals being run by the Gas Relief Department here today and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. Not a single swine flu patient is undergoing treatment at these hospitals at present. In-charge of swine flu treatment cell Dr Lokendra Dave informed that nine swine flu patients were admitted to Hamidia Hospital out of which eight have been discharged after recovering fully while one patient has died.
Situation under control in Ratlam
Bhopal: The Home Minister and Minister in-charge of Ratlam district Umashankar Gupta has described as unfortunate the incident that took place in Ratlam last night, following which the district administration had to clamped curfew, as unfortunate and appealed to the people to maintain peace and amity. Gupta has instructed the district and police administration to take strict action against the miscreants and disruptive elements while ensuring safe of lives and properties of people.
GST to increase taxes on commodities
Indore: The Goods and Service Tax (GST) will lead to increase in taxes on commodities used by the common man that will add to dearness. This is why the state government is opposing GST. These views were expressed by Finance and Commercial Taxes Minister Raghavji while addressing a function organised by Oilseed Growers Association at Indore on Friday.
Separate screening rooms in hospitals
Bhopal: With a view to effectively controlling Swine Flu, medical facilities are being expanded further in hospitals. The purpose of it is to provide quick medical treatment at the initial stage to the patients. Separate screening rooms have been arranged in hospitals for cold and flu patients. Inspection teams will be constituted in each district to inspect the system of prevention, treatment of Swine Flu patients. On the directives of the Minister of State for Public Health Family Welfare and Medical Education Mahendra Hardia medical facilities in the hospitals have been expanded.
Minister for immediate relief to SC-ST
Bhopal: Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah said that there should be no delay in giving relief to the victims of cases under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe Atrocities Eradication Act. He said that the district officer should ensure that meeting of the committee constituted in the districts should be held regularly. Kunwar Shah issued these instructions at a review meeting of district officers of Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions held at Satpura Bhavan here on Wednesday.
