CS asks officials to write off damaged articles

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Antony DeSa said that an immediate action should be taken to write off waste and damaged articles kept in office premises, hospitals, schools, hostels and anganwadis under the Swachchata campaign. This activity will create additional space besides sanitation in institutions and premises. DeSa was reviewing the activities under Swachchata campaign in context to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 at Mantralaya on Monday. Instructions as regard to conduct a special campaign to clean corridors of Mantralaya (Vallabh bhavan) beside Satpura, Vindhyachal bhavan and other government offices were given.

It is informed in the meeting that a special Swachchata Pakhwada is being conducted on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal birth Centenary on September 25 to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 by urban bodies. Public awareness campaign in urban areas is being conducted to make state free from open defecation. Over 2.23 lakh personal toilets and over 7 thousand seats public toilets have been constructed by the urban bodies in the state and process of collecting garbage in 4,036 wards has been initiated. Beside this a special campaign is being conducted for sanitation at bus stand, railway station, places of religious and tourism importance, vegetable markets and markets etc.

Additional Chief Secretary School Education SR Mohanti informed that special attention is paid towards 11 points related to personal hygiene and sanitation at school premises under the special swachchata abhiyan at schools. He further informed that waste paper stationery lying at State Education Center has been given to Nepa Paper Mill, which not only helped making office clean but recycle of paper has been ensured. Chief Secretary DeSa has told other institutions to follow the process.

Directives as regard to initiate process to write off waste and damaged articles besides obsolete machineries lying at government hospitals and medical colleges were given in the meeting. This will help create additional space in the offices and ensure sanitation. Suggestion as regard to process initiated by MY hospital Indore for write off was given on the occasion. Special Programmes under Swachchata abhiyan will be organized in Bhopal also on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
