Last Shahi Snan at Simhastha on May 21

Ujjain: Lakhs of devotees will take the holy dip in Kshipra river during last Shahi Snan of century’s second Simhastha at Ujjain on May 21. Shahi Snan of Akharas will commence from 3 am. Shaivite and Vaishnavite Akharas will take holy dip simultaneously at Dutt Akhara and Ramghat, respectively, from 3 am. Saints and seers belonging to various Akharas will take the holy dip in accordance with time fixed for them from 3 to 11 am. This would be for the first time that devotees will see saints and seers of Shaivite and Vaishnavite cults take the holy dip simultaneously on both the banks of river Kshipra. District administration has ensured all necessary preparations for Shahi Snan.
Police and paramilitary forces would be deployed at every side of Akharas’ processions. Crowd and traffic management will also be foolproof. Saints and seers will be accorded traditional welcome. Order and routes for all the Akharas have been fixed for the Snan.
Panchdashnam Juna Akhara, Aavhan Akhara and Agni Akhara will take the holy dip from 3 am, Niranjani and Anand Akharas from 4 am and Mahanirwani and Atal Akhara from 5 am. After the holy dip by saints and seers of Shaivite Akharas, Dutt Akhara ghat will be opened for common devotees from 7 am.
Processions of Panchdashnami Akhara, Aavhan Akhara and Agni Akhara will go from their Chhaonis via Chhoti Rapat to the ghat and after Snan return to their camp via ramp near Dutt Akhara. Processions of Niranjani Akhara and Anand Akhara will go from their camp on Badnagar road via Chhoti Rapat while following traffic rule of walking left. It would stop on left side of the divider. The procession will march towards ghat after return of processions of Nirnajani Akhara. After Snan, the Akhara will vacate the ghat and return to its Chhaoni from other side of the divider via Shankaracharya road. Procession of Mahanirwani and Atal Akharas will go from their camp on Badnagar road via Chhoti Rapat and would stop on left side of the road divider near Dutt Akhara. The procession will enter the ghat after it is vacated. After Snan, they would return to their Chhaoni
Vaishnavite Akharas will take the holy dip at Ramghat. There Nirmohi Ani Akhara will take the holy dip from 3 am, Digambar Ani Akhara from 4 am and Nirwani Ani Akhara from 5 am. Shahi Snan by Vaishnavite Akharas will conclude by 7.30 am. Udaseen Akharas will take the holy dip at Ramghat. Nirmohi, Digambar and Nirwani Akharas will take the holy dip from 3 am. They would reach Ramghat via Khak Chowk, Ankpat, Patel Nagar, Nikas Chauraha, Kanthal, Sati Gate, Chhatri Chowk, Patani Bazar, Gudri Chauraha and Ramanuj Kot. After Snan, they would return to their Chhaoni via Gandahrva Gate, Dani Gate, Bilotipura, Juna Somwariya, Pipali Naka in front of Valkimi Dham on Ankpat road.
Bada Udaseen Akhara and Naya Udaseen Akhara will reach Ramghat at 8.30 am and leave at 9.30 am. Nirmal Akhara will take the holy dip from 10 to 11 am. Thus, Ramghat and Dutt Akhara ghat will be available for holy dip by common devotees from 11 am.
